Don't Discount The Dark

Although a woodpecker resides in trees near by for several years, through the dark night came a much smaller, smaller, smaller sound, possibly a new hatchling following ancient instincts, another bark battering.

Dug in First Compost Today

On the back burner for months, the idea of compost moved to a front burner. The compost itself both hit the clay. The warm sun porch reminded me to look for the shovel. The compost is now buried. Over the next week, perhaps the squirrels and birds will find it. One hyacinth is showing it green helix; it may have divided itself during the last five years. Green spears from croci and daffodils arrived after yuletide.
